RECEPTION THEORY

 1) What is the preferred reading of a media text?

This is the message or idealogy/belief the producers want the audience to believe.

2) What is the oppositional reading of a media text?

This is goes against the message the producer wants the audience to believe

This is when the consumer takes away on opposite message or belief different to what the producers intended

3) How does the Harry Brown trailer position the audience to respond to the teenage characters in the film?

They make the audience to respond in a way that all teenagers are in groups and socialise to do bad things.

4) Why might young people reject this reading and construct an oppositional reading of the trailer?

Young people will view this as stereotypical that all teenagers are involved with violence but all teenagers aren't brought up and and act like this
